UPCOMING EVENTS

Wild Weaving at Summerhall September in collaboration with Dovecoat Studio - Friday 20th September 11am to 1pm

For complete beginners – a workshop and informal talk about weaving. Inspired by the weavers met during Our Linen Story Tours in Scotland, Journeys in Design is supporting the development of local ‘Wild Weaving’ workshops. The Inaugural Workshop Lead is Akshata Mokashi MA (Distinction) HWU Textile and Design. In September we are joined by Guest Weaver James Donald of PickOne to discuss elements of Weaving Practice.
Attendees weave the weft of a pre-warped frame using materials found during a preceding walk in The Meadows, harnessing the hand-crafting and meditative benefits of walking and weaving. Assemble at Summerhall Entrance at 11am. Dress for the weather. All materials and light refreshments provided.

Capacity is limited: please reserve a place on EVENTBRITE

Our next  WILD WEAVING workshop is on Friday 15th November 11am to 12.30 with our WEAVERS TALE talk   1.30 to 2.15 pm following the workshop. All free but donations gratefully received.
